I believe it is good to be of service. In my day-to-day life, there have been many requests for my knowledge and advice on a myriad of matters; and so Blogosphere, I offer my services to you. If you require advice--whether on your summer reading list, or what pairs well with baba ganouch (Jane Eyre and dry Riesling, respectively) I welcome your questions. And so, I leave it to you, Blogosphere--I am at your disposal.

  1. Hi Mike,

What do you recommend for a good workout? I'm getting a little flabby.

  2. A good question, A.M.--I too have struggled with my weight. I find the thing that gets me moving in string. You need someone to wiggle it for you; but a workout companion is a good idea anyway.

I do also believe, however, that it is important that we accept ourselves, and not hold ourselves to impossible standards. Personally, when I see those svelt felines in TV ads, I feel the compulsion to abstain from crunchies for ever; but that isn't who I am. Exercise and diet are imprortant for good health; but emracing our true natures (and the crunchie bowl) are equally important.

  3. Hi MIke, I was just wondering why you always look suprised ? Is it your exotic Iclandic Tree Cat heritage? Or is your skin getting a bit tight.......I find it a very appealing characteristic, don't get me wrong, I just wondered what you were thinking to continue with that gaze.... BM, no not the litter box BM.

  4. Hi BM,
You are not the first to make such a query. As I mentioned in a previous post, my perpetual visage of astonishment has much to do with the fore-mentioned ‘p-p-p-poker face, p-p-poker face’ (sorry, I couldn’t help myself) but as you have astutely observed, that is not the end of the story. It may or may not surprise you to learn, that I am on the frugal side. Being the thrifty sort, I am not one for spending great sums for vanity; but I also do believe that one must make an effort to look one’s best. To this end, I forego costly Botox treatments, in favour of simply using my iron will to avoid such facial expressions as may cause unsightly lines and wrinkles. It takes some effort, but I highly recommend this strategy. Then, you can keep the money you save for more important things, like rare Reggae albums. I hope you find this helpful.
    Sincerely,
    Mike
